There is nothing quite like watching a show on bizarre food on directv. There is nothing quite like watching a show on travel as well. When you put those two together and make it a show about bizarre foods from around the world, well, you have pure gold. That's the formula that makes "Bizarre Food With Andrew Zimmerman" the best travel show on television. There is just something so cool about watching someone travel to bizarre locations and try food that you have never even heard of. Whether it's eating eggs with chicken embryo's in the Philippines, or water bugs in Mexico, Andrew has seen it all, and tried it all around the world.
What makes the show so compelling isn't just the fact that he eats weird food, it's the fact that he gives you honest to god reactions when he does it. If he likes something (which he typically does) he will tell you. On the other hand, if he doesn't like something, he will tell you that as well. It's that kind of honesty which makes him, in a way, trustworthy. Even though you may find what he is eating repulsive, you also want to have the experience of eating it. While the show is about food, it's also about the cultures that inhabit the places he visits and even their feelings towards our favorite foods.
